Geriatric Wellness

Dogs and cats age at a much faster rate than humans, and as a result, annual wellness examinations are critical to detecting health problems early.  The key to improving life expectancy and quality of life is prevention of disease.  In addition to an annual examination, all animals should have annual blood and urine testing to ensure that all of the internal organs are working properly.  Weight problems, dental disease and mobility problems are common disorders of geriatric patients.  Many of these problems can be controlled with proper diet, medications and treatments.
