Community Outreach
The Stink Bug Project
Gentle Touch Animal Hospital is proud to support 9 year-old cancer survivor, Allison Winn, and the Stink Bug Project. This amazing organization supports families stricken with childhood cancer and provides well-trained, loving companion dogs for the patients. Help support Stink Bug by purchasing Allison’s homemade dog biscuits and Gentle Touch will match 50% of the proceeds!
For more information about the Stink Bug Project, please visit www.stinkbugproject.org. Allison has also been featured in the Denver Post click HERE to read more about this amazing cancer survivor.
Other Community Outreach Programs
The staff of Gentle Touch Animal Hospital also take pride in the fact that we sponsor many community programs.
To highlight some of them:
Southmoor Elementary School
We have been a financial sponsor for the silent auction for the last 6 years. The money that is raised at the auction helps to fund teachers and pay for supplies. We donate auction items such as Free Exams and “Vet for a Day”. “Vet for a day” has been know to cause quite a “ruckus” among the parents vying for it for their kids!
Tri For the Cure
We were a proud sponsor of the 2009 race that helped raise money for breast cancer research. On registration day we handed out over 2,000 bags of animal cookies and wished the racers luck!
Cherry Creek High School
We were a proud sponsor of the 2009/10 athletics department. Go Bears!
Colorado Vincentian Volunteers
We support this group and their many good works, including helping some of Denver’s most impoverished people. They do this by serving agencies such as Stout Street Clinic, The Gathering Place and Samaritan House, as well as many other too numerous to name.
Canine Companions For Independence
We proudly discount all vet care for our clients who are training dogs for this amazing program. It is so rewarding to see these wonderful dogs adopted out to such an appreciative owner after they graduate their training!
