About Us
Our hospital is fully equipped for the best animal care possible. Although we are always hopeful that your pet will only visit us for routine care and checkups, our facility is equipped for any emergency.
Please get to know our staff as we are here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have!
Neznho
We recently added two furry members to the Gentle Touch family, Neznho and Rogue. They both came to us from the Denver Dumb Friends League and have brought joy to our work family.
Neznho, or “Nezzy” as we call him, is a curious, sensitive boy who likes to “help” the doctors. We will often find him running to join us in the exam room or the lab, and more often than not, he stays. He also seems to have a “sixth sense” when an animal is sick and will sit and stare at their cage for long periods of time. Nezzy also likes to keep a patient’s cage warm for them while they are in surgery!
Rogue
Rogue, on the other hand, could care less about the other animals. More often than not you will find him sleeping in the in-box on the front desk. He will jump down every now and then and “check out” a dog that is waiting in the lobby. As soon as he decides there is no threat, he is usually right back in “his” in-box.
Chelsea
Chelsea grew up in San Diego and Northern Virginia before moving to Colorado to attend CU Boulder. After graduating with a B.S. in Biology, she worked as a Wildlife Technician for several years, before entering the Veterinary Medicine field. When Chelsea is not working, she enjoys exploring the Rocky Mountains either with skis strapped to her feet or a pack on her back. Chelsea eagerly awaits the day that she will live in a home where the landlord will allow her to add some furry friends to her family!
Ben
Ben is from Iowa and is currently attending Bel-Rea Institute to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. When he is not at school or work, Ben and his wife Kim are busy caring for their 3 cats, Gizmo, Ivy and Smokie, along with Buster the bunny and Hogsworth the hedgehog. When Ben has free time he enjoys white water rafting. As a former guide, he is a pro!
Megan
Megan, a Chicago native, got her start in the animal world in high school. While pursuing her A.S. in Business Management she worked at a holistic animal hospital and became a Certified Canine Myotherapist. Megan’s life changed when Hurricane Katrina hit. She stepped up to run Fur Keeps Animal Rescue, coordinating the movement of donated supplies to New Orleans as well overseeing the adoption of over 300 homeless pets! Seeking to expand her animal knowledge, Megan scooped up her kittie Serenity and moved to Denver to attend Bel-Rea where she proceeded to graduate with honors. In her spare time, Megan enjoys playing video games and hockey and watching sports with her husband. Go Blackhawks!
Melissa
Melissa is a Colorado native who is currently attending Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She grew up with a wide variety of domestic and exotic animals as pets. This menagerie included tarantulas, snakes, frogs, turtles, iguana, chinchillas, rabbits, hamsters and of course, dogs and cats. This ultimately solidified Melissa’s passion to care for animals. She hopes to continue her career in working with small animal’s for years to come! When Melissa is not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and two dogs, Carlton and Reece. She also coaches gymnastics and spends as much time as possible with friends and family.
Stacy
Stacy is a Colorado native who found that she always had a “knack” for dealing with animals. Growing up she had dogs, cats, snakes and lizards! Stacy decided to pursue a career in veterinary medicine and graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in July of 2011 with a certification in Veterinary Assistance. On her days off, Stacy likes to rollerblade, play video games and make jewlery with her mom. She also enjoys spending as much time as possible with her 3 cats; Tazz, Wink and Melinko and her Italian Greyhound Sophie.
Jessica
Jessica had a strong passion for animals since she was a little girl in Wilmington, Delaware. She attended the University of Delaware for Pre-Veterinary Medicine; but left to pursue other aspects of life, first moving to Fort Collins and then moving to Boston. After exploring both ends of the country, she decided to settle in Denver. Jessica wanted to jump back into the animal field and started working at Gentle Touch Animal Hospital in the winter of 2012. Now that she is settled she wants to continue her career of working with animals. While Jessica does not have pets of her own, taking care of other’s companions is just as gratifying to her, but; she hopes to have her own furry friends soon! Jessica’s other hobbies include music, cooking, enjoying the outdoors; especially swimming, hiking, and running, and spending time with friends and family.
